Whether you train at another gym or with me isn't really the point. The point is do you get results that last and are you happy with yourself?
It would be quite a task to answer all of the questions right now in one sitting. My book is an open reference to many of the questions my clients and students have asked me over the years.
As Sensei, these questions are on my mind all the time, as a personal trainer and life coach I not only want the best for you; I want you to want the best for you.
So take your time learn about yourself, change your life and pass your knowledge and insight along to someone else.
Who really wants to be out of shape?
Who wants to be comfortable being uncomfortable?
And for those of you who think they are in shape, what type of shape are you really in?
Are you living your life to the fullest or faking it?
Are you lying to yourself about what your dreams are, and are you selling yourself on someone else's dreams for you?
What are your goals and how do you plan on implementing them in shape or out of shape?
Did you really want to live in a body that is not yours?
Do you want to be overweight or obese forever?
Real talk for real people, are you trained?
When did you stop valuing yourself?
When you learned to settle instead of wanting the best.
When you allow others to determine what you are worth.
When you accepted failure as an option.
When you decided that your needs and happiness weren't that important.
It's time to put your needs first for a change and put a value on your life.
Many schools capitalize on this new get rich off of your dreams era. With promises to make each student a champion, ultimate fighter and bad ass, these schools are growing faster than ever.
Prices continue to rise for training at these schools as the techniques and overall ability of the student continue to drop. Customers are none the wiser until they are duped into ridiculous contracts, are lost in the crowd and or consistently getting injured.
Have you notice your instructors softening up their stance on testing requirements. No more sparring, no forms, do the parents control the learning environment.
They plateau doing the same thing over and over, until they eventually lose interest, build negative bad habits or quit, hating the school or the arts. Find a school that will develop your character the rest will fall into place.
The best way for you to determine the truth is for you to visit the different schools. Look to see how well rounded the students are at the other gyms.
What are they being taught?
Most schools teach techniques that won't help you in a real scrap.
How well do they apply the techniques?
Does your techniques work on at least 7 out of the 10 people you work with.
Are there many instructors teaching different things for additional money?
Do the instructors make the technique work for you and help blend it so you can retain it and understand it?
Quite simply the answer for most instructors is NO.
How long has the instructor been teaching and what are there credentials? What is their relationship with their instructors, do they still learn and practice. Can they teach by making YOU BETTER?
Does the instructor work out themselves, do they practice what they teach and work with their students?
